A little bit about me...
Welcome! I am so excited you are here visiting my webpage.
My name is April Garza. I am the Owner and Director of Mrs. April’s Place. I am a Georgetown native. I attended school at Georgetown ISD for all 12 years. I attended both Austin Community College and Temple College. I have a CDA in
Early Childhood and a Director’s credential. I have over 20 years in Early Childhood and Elementary level experience. I was employed at WBCO working on the Mary Bailey Head Start Campus where I was a Lead Preschool Teacher. I also worked with Georgetown Independent School District for 10 years as a Bilingual Preschool and a RTI paraprofessional. RTI, is a way to identify and support students who need extra academic or behavioral help to succeed in school. I have a passion for teaching and setting a foundation for young learners. My commitment is to provide a safe, loving and a quality program for you and your child.

Philosophy
It is the philosophy of Mrs. April’s Place, that early childhood should be a time of fun, warmth, security, education, exploration and discovery. Mrs. April’s Place will provide an atmosphere that encourages social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth through the children’s play and small group instruction. The curriculum includes dramatic play, creative art activities, music, science activities, block play, sensory experiences, daily outdoor activities, the celebration of birthdays, and holidays. Children will explore shapes, colors, numbers, and letters through developmentally appropriate activities taught using small group instruction.
